Asia’s largest trade fair for woodworking machinery, furniture manufacturing and home furnishing kicked off today in Guangzhou, China today for four days. The exhibition features furniture design, hardware accessories, home furnishing materials, furniture accessories, wood products and panels, adhesives, coatings, as well as furniture production machinery and equipment. Together with the co-location of the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) Phase II for office furniture, the double-event showcases the entire industry value chain.
This year, around 2,100 companies from Germany and abroad will be presenting their products on an exhibition area of 340,000 square meters. Among them are almost 200 industry-leading international brands with high-quality, innovative products.

Leading innovation in materials technology
The 20 PLUS 20 Annual List Award Ceremony and the launch of the VSIL@Forum opened in grand style the show today. Originating from the prestigious "interzum Award" for the global furniture industry, the 20 PLUS 20 Annual List Award for Outstanding Furniture Accessories has already established itself in the industry in Asia. This edition is themed "In Pursuit of Furniture Accessories with Vitality". Dick Spierenburg - founder of Spierenburg Studio and creative director of imm cologne - and Hon. Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters - founder of Haute Innovation and renowned European material expert - were invited as special consultants for this.
Considering criteria such as innovation, sustainability, safety and practicality, 20 winning products were selected from a large number of innovative nominations for the years 2021-2022, which will be presented in the special area throughout the exhibition period. The competition will be a major attraction for furniture designers and manufacturers.

Themed “Vitality of Sustainable Innovation to Life”, the VSIL@Forum was unveiled for the first time at CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2022 today.
Executives and experts from industry leaders Schattdecor, Rehau, Henkel, Sugatsune, Linak, WGSN and Haute Innovation spoke on a range of hot topics like sustainability, hardware design, interior design trends and so on. With the highly competitive home furnishings market and ever-changing technologies speakers presented case studies to discuss how R&D and innovation can strengthen the end product.
Buyers meet sellers
This year, buyers from well-known furniture and mattress brands such as Vifa, DeRucci, Kuka, Muli and Snimay will actively participate in the business matching sessions, which will be complemented by the virtual presence of several overseas buyers.
