Dick Spierenburg
Dick Spierenburg studied Architecture at Delft University of Technology and Interior & Product Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He joined the Dutch manufacturer Castelijn which produced many of his furniture designs. Spierenburg remained with the company for over fifteen years, in the last period as managing and creative director.
His involvement with interior design events dates back from 1995. He started and managed three leading permanent interior design exhibitions in Amsterdam, NIC, Pakhuis Amsterdam and Post CS.
Parallel to these activities Dick Spierenburg started KBDS with Dutch designer Karel Boonzaaijer in 2001. They designed for Arco, Artifort, Castelijn, Gelderland, Hollands Licht, Minotti Italia, Montis and Moroso. In 2009 Spierenburg started his own design studio.
In Germany, he co-ordinated the initiative Design Post, a design and interior showroom for international brands and got appointed consultant. Since 2011, he is creative director of the imm cologne furniture fair. For the 2010 edition of this international interior fair, he created the concepts for Pure Village and in 2015 Pure Platforms: Environments with an integrated architecture for compact presentation spaces for exhibitors showing interior design collections or solo products. Yearly, new concepts are created such as Pure Editions and pavilions for lounges and installations.
He did the architectural design of offices, factories and private houses for own use. His house is both family home and laboratory for new interior and product designs.
Since 2014 Dick Spierenburg is consultant for the Orgatec-the trade fair for the modern work environment. With his studio, he focuses on the design of exhibitions (MAKK museum) and booth concepts for interior brands such as Thonet and Linak.
Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters
Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters is the founder and owner of the future agency HAUTE INNOVATION in Berlin. With his expertise from more than 20 years of consultancy and development work, he is one of the most renowned material experts and trend scouts in Europe. He is the author of numerous specialist books, some of which enjoy the status of standard works for university education.
Since 2014 he has been a member of the advisory board of the promotion initiative "Twenty20 – Partnership for Innovation" on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Since 2018 Peters is part of the advisory board of the German Association of 3D Printing e.V.
From 2015 to 2021, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Peters was consistently appointed to the jury of the renowned Red Dot Award Product Design. He is a sought-after speaker on innovations in the areas of sustainability, smart materials and additive production and has given over 200 lectures worldwide.
In autumn 2019 he was appointed honorary professor at the HAWK in Hildesheim.
