“Vitality of Sustainable Innovation to Life”

Transforming and disrupting furniture manufacturing

Under the theme "Vitality of Sustainable Innovation to Life", the first VSIL@Forum will gather a large number of R&D, design and trend experts in the fields of hardware, accessories and interior materials from China and abroad to share with delegates the world's most advanced technical solutions and practical examples, as well as analyze global development trends and technological breakthroughs.

The forum will kick off on July 26th and deliver inspiring topics on whole house customization, sustainability solutions, cutting-edge design, lifestyle & interiors forecast, green interior materials and industry insights.

Dynamism and naturalness are the main trends in global furniture design this year. The debut of VSIL@Gallery - Material Aesthetics Laboratory at interzum guangzhou 2022 will explore the visual aesthetics of furnishings, materials and colors. Key industry giants like Henkel, Linak, REHAU, Schattdecor, Sugatsune, and consumer trend agency WGSN as well as Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters, founder of Berlin-based future agency HAUTE INNOVATION, will join hands for the first time to share with participants cutting-edge technical solutions and use cases.

Titled "Why We Create," VSIL@Gallery is curated by Tan Yexin, founder of the Chinese creative platform Helloup. She is collaborating with three internationally renowned artists - the Dutch young designer Govert Flint, the dynamic 3D designer and leader in promoting domestic dynamics studies Zhemin and the visual artist and creative technologist Raven Kwok.

“20 PLUS 20” Outstanding Furniture Accessories Award

Supporting sustainable development of the furniture industry

The winners of the highly anticipated "20 PLUS 20" Outstanding Furniture Accessories Award for 2021 and 2022 have been previously announced in the major media. The winning products and companies will be honored with a special exhibition during the four-day event.

Driving the development of the industry, the award-winning companies have made numerous breakthroughs in materials, technology and industrial applications to create diverse new solutions. The aim is to meet the needs of an increasingly circular economy and adapt to changing consumer trends.

Internationally renowned interior designer and one of the judges, Dick Spierenburg, praised the award-winning products for their innovative materials and design: “It's good to see companies developing products and materials in innovative and conscious ways, and more than ever finding alternatives for scarce resources. I've seen products that improve quality of life, support healthcare, make it easier to live in compact spaces, and focus on using less energy and harmful resources in the manufacturing process.

Jury member and well-known materials expert from Europe, Hon-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters, commented as follows: “I found it remarkable how many manufacturers in the upholstered furniture industry are looking for approaches to offer plastic-free or bio-based products. In addition to sustainability, it is also a matter of minimizing materials that are harmful to health.”

"Boundless Design" Forum

Further forward-looking inspiration for the industry will be provided by the "Boundless Design" forum with key industry representatives from the design scene. Among other things, the balance between furniture aesthetics, ecological sustainability and function will be highlighted.
