CIFM / interzum guangzhou to continue strong momentum in 2012

Raw Materials & Components Zone to be relocated; event to debut Turkish and Spanish pavilions; International Zone over 85 percent sold

Asia's largest and most comprehensive woodworking machinery, furniture production and interior design trade fair, CIFM / interzum guangzhou will open from March 27-30, 2012 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex (Pazhou) in Guangzhou in co-location with the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF).

One of the new developments in 2012 is the relocation of the Raw Materials & Components Zone to Area C of the venue while the International Zone will continue to strengthen on the four main product categories namely, Materials and Equipment for Upholstery & Bedding; Hardware / Components / Fittings; Wood Products / Adhesives; Materials and Equipment for Interior Design. The Machinery Zone will remain on the first floor of Area B.

CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2012 is projected to feature more than 1,000 furniture manufacturers worldwide covering 110,000 square-meters and attract over 50,000 local and overseas buyers.

Organizers reported over 85 percent of 2011 exhibitors have already confirmed their participation for the next year. 2012 will see the debut participation of national groups from Turkey and Spain respectively, bringing with them advanced European furniture production technology and products. Long-time group exhibitors the German, Italian and US pavilions will all see a bigger turnout of participating companies.

Based on the annual World Furniture Outlook 2011 report released by Milan-based research and consulting firm CSIL, the increase in demand for furniture products of over 70 countries and regions worldwide is expected to reach 3.3 percent; China, Italy, Germany and Poland were the largest exporters in volume in 2010 respectively. It is estimated that trading value globally will grow from US$102 billion in 2010 to US$107 billion in 2011.

Industry experts have also expressed their optimism in the China furniture production market as import and export figures registered a marked increase since the second half of 2010. The current trend also sees numerous established family-owned enterprises from developed nations setting up production plants in China, further spurring the growth of this industry. At the same time, local demand is strong for re-imported goods.
