#interzum guangzhou

Asia’s largest and most comprehensive woodworking machinery and furniture production sourcing platform fully sold out

• Occupying 110,000 square meters, 11 halls

• Four distinct segments in International zone at Hall 11.2

Manufacturers in the woodworking and furniture production industry who are keen to participate at this year’s interzum guangzhou/CIFM – Asia’s largest and most comprehensive sourcing platform of its kind – but have yet to sign up will have to wait till 2012 as the event is well sold out since five months before it opens its doors to the trade.

Despite expanding exhibition space by ten percent to the current 110,000 square meters, organizers are struggling to keep up with exhibitors’ demands. Till date, more than 900 companies from 26 countries and regions will be showcasing total solutions from design to raw and auxiliary materials and components, as well as woodworking and processing equipment and technology.

The strong demand for space is especially apparent in the International zone at Hall 11.2 which will be hosting the trade fair’s centerpiece comprising of four distinct exhibit groups: 1) Wood Products / Adhesives 2) Hardware / Accessories 3) Materials for Upholstery / Textile and 4) Bedding Productions / Accessories that is believed to better cater to buyers’ needs. Sharing the same hall are longtime group participants from Germany, Italy, USA/Canada and Taiwan.

interzum guangzhou / CIFM 2011 will also see key international exhibitors such as Woodworking & Bedding Machinery: Homag, Vollmer, IMA and Adler from Germany, SCM and Cefla from Italy, Leggett & Platt, Pfaff and MultiCam from the US; Tools & Saws: Freud (Italy), Ceratizit (Luxemburg), Leitz (Germany) and Dimar (Israel); Decoration Materials: Schattdecor (Germany) and Panefri (Japan); Chemicals & Adhesives: Forbo (Switzerland), Franklin and H. B. Fuller both from the US, Jowat (Germany); Materials for Upholstery & Textile: Bekaert and Latexco both from Belgium, Sapsa (France), Zahonero (Spain), Flexitex (Portugal) and BOYTEKS (Turkey); Hardware & Accessories: FGV (Italy), Topslide (Denmark) and Samet (Turkey); Wood & Wood Products: UPM (Finland), Vicwood, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) from the US, EGGER (Austria), Canada Wood (Canada) and Danzer Sino (Switzerland); Bedding Productions / Accessories: HS Max (the US) and OKIN Refined (Germany).

Another key area of interest in 2011 is the Innovative Materials & Design Forum focusing on the exchange of ideas on the development of innovative materials which will be initiated by the top management and senior technicians of leading furniture production and raw material suppliers.

According to Customs data, total furniture exports in 2010 rose by 32.4 percent in value against the previous year with growth rate reaching the second highest since January 2008. Of the nine major exporting product groups, chairs and parts exports grew 28.44 percent; wooden furniture increased by 49.32 percent; and metal furniture by 39.96 percent, of which, high technology, low carbon and environmentally friendly furniture accounted for a considerable proportion. With the rebound of the global economy in 2011, it is believed demand in furniture and its exports will be more robust.
