International Hall to inject new elements and enhance Segmentation
The eighth interzum guangzhou / CIFM, Asia’s leading furniture manufacturing and woodworking trade fair which will take place in Guangzhou, China from 27 to 30 March 2011, is seeing an unprecedented growth in all aspects of the almost sold out event.
More than 900 domestic and international brands will be seen featuring their products at interzum guangzhou / CIFM 2011. The exponential increase in exhibitor number has spurred organizers Koelnmesse and the China Foreign Trade Centre to open up one additional hall, increasing total exhibition space to 110,000 square meters. Further, visitor number is expected to exceed 40,000.

The coming event will once again welcome longtime group participants from Germany, Italy and US who will all be leading an even larger contingent than in 2010 to exhibit in the International Hall.
Making its debut appearance at interzum guangzhou / CIFM 2011 is the Hardwood States Export Group (HSEG) from the US bringing with them a group of wood producers from The STATE OF MISSISSIPPI in the U.S.
The other highlight of the International Hall is the exhibit section in Hall 11.2 which has been classified into four distinct display segments, namely, 1) Wood Products / Adhesives; 2) Hardware / Accessories; 3) Materials for Upholstery / Textile and 4) Bedding Productions / Accessories.
The growth in demand of the furniture production and woodworking industry abroad has been attributed to the remarkable response of manufacturers in the participation of interzum guangzhou / CIFM 2011. According to customs statistics, China’s furniture export for the first seven months of 2010 amounted to US$18.54 billion, a growth of 35% compared with the same period of 2009.
Every year, interzum guangzhou / CIFM conference is also the meeting place for senior officials from industry associations, industry experts and scholars, and major industry players to discuss current trends and future topics.
Of interest in 2011 are the discussions on the economic development and future outlook of low carbon material production; as well as topics surrounding intellectual property – an existing issue faced by the industry; and the exchange of ideas on the development of innovative materials which will be initiated by the top management and senior technicians of leading furniture production and raw material suppliers.
